About Us

Spacewallart is a small fragrance house based in Eugene, Oregon. We compose and sell eau de parfum for customers across the United States. This page is a statement of what we make and how we intend to make it, written plainly.

What we make

We make eau de parfum, in a small and deliberately narrow range. Each fragrance is built as a complete idea rather than a variation on a theme, and we would rather release one composition we stand behind than a wall of options that dilute each other. Every scent we sell is our own work, developed under our own name. We do not imitate other houses and we do not describe our fragrances by reference to anyone else's.

How we think about composition

A fragrance is a structure. The opening has to earn attention, the heart has to hold it, and the base has to be worth wearing for hours after the first impression has gone. We build in that order and we edit hard, because a composition with fewer materials, chosen well, usually reads more clearly on skin than one crowded with ideas.

We work with both natural and high-quality synthetic materials, and we do not treat one as superior to the other. Naturals bring complexity and movement. Synthetics bring clarity, consistency between batches, and access to accords that cannot be extracted from a plant at all. Some of the most refined materials in modern perfumery are made in a laboratory, and some naturals are best used in very small quantity. The right choice is whichever serves the composition.

Concentration

We release at eau de parfum concentration. That means a higher proportion of fragrance oil than an eau de toilette carries, in an alcohol base, which generally gives a rounder, longer-lasting wear. How a fragrance actually behaves still depends on your skin chemistry, the weather and how much you apply, so we describe concentration as a fact about the product and let your own skin have the final word.

Sourcing and making

We buy our materials from established fragrance suppliers who can document what they sell us, and our fragrances are blended, macerated, filtered and bottled to standard cosmetic manufacturing practice for the United States market. We do not test our products on animals and we require the same commitment from our suppliers. That is our own policy and our own undertaking, not a third-party certification, and we say so rather than implying an approval we do not hold.

Every bottle leaves us with its full ingredient list, in INCI format, and the allergen declarations required for cosmetic products, printed on the outer carton. If you want that list before you buy, ask us and we will send it.

Why Eugene

We are based at 250 W Broadway in Eugene, Oregon. It is a working town in a green, wet, temperate corner of the country, and it suits us. Being small and in one place means the person who packs your order is close to the person who answers your email, which is the main reason we can say what we say below about service.

How we handle honesty

We take a firm line on what we will and will not claim.

• Fragrance is a cosmetic and an emotional pleasure. We make no health, medical or therapeutic claims. Our fragrances do not treat, cure or relieve anything, and we will never suggest otherwise.
• We do not compare our work to designer or niche houses, and we do not use the language of dupes, clones or imitations.
• We do not invent reviews, ratings, awards, press coverage or customer numbers. If you see a claim on this site, it is one we can stand behind.
• We do not use countdown timers, invented stock counts or manufactured urgency. A good fragrance does not need a stopwatch.

How we handle service

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum. Total estimated delivery is 4 to 7 business days. You have 30 days from delivery to return anything, we accept both defective and non-defective returns and exchanges, we send you a free printable return label, we charge no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 days of the item reaching us. Those terms are set out in full on the Shipping Policy and the Returns & Refund Policy, and they are not going to change on you after you order.

Using fragrance safely

Our products are for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and discontinue use if irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children. Eau de parfum is alcohol based and flammable, so keep it away from open flame, and store it away from direct sunlight and heat.
